Islamorada Fishing Report

Inshore fishing has been great! We are catching a variety of fish, plenty of large snapper to take home and cook up for dinner. The sharks have been putting the heat on my customers giving them a good time, this is a lot of fun for family fishing. Further back into the Everglades National park we are catching tarpon in the 20-40lb range at the creek openings. It is an ambush point for the tarpon and snook too waiting for baitfish to come out. Snook fishing along the mangroves has been tough because of how much rain we are getting in the afternoons and evenings. The water levels are high and it can be difficult to toss a bait up under the mangroves where the snook are traveling and feeding. Snook can be caught on the flats though sitting in sand beds. There have been tailing reds on the flats as well and some small traveling schools.

In the Gulf we are catching ladyfish, grouper snapper and mackerel. The tripletail will start to show up too since the the stone crab traps are out now for the season.

Offshore there are a few dolphin out and a ton of small blackfin tuna and bonita. The sailfish are starting to show up but that wont be at its best until about late November and definitely December through February and March.

I look forward to getting you out on the water.
